OUR VISION

Mud Puddles Cottage will provide children with a loving, safe and respectful environment through conscientious teaching and learning. We aim for children to develop a deep feeling of belonging in their environment, being in the present moment and becoming competent in themselves and their learning. We see this as the foundation to becoming responsible citizens of the world.



 OUR MISSION


The first 7 years in a child’s life are the most formable and it is our mission of Mud Puddles Cottage to recognise children as social beings from birth, full of curiosity and imagination and having the potential and desire to find connections and meaning in all they experience.

We want to promote listening forms as being the basis for any relationship.

We will strive in awareness that children are all equal. We will foster the child’s relationship with family, community, culture and nature. 

Mud Puddles Cottage wants children to explore, develop interest, create their own place as they own identity and make meaning of the world around them.

 
CENTRE PHILOSPHY


·  Mud Puddles Cottage believes listening forms the basis for any relationship, through action and reflection learning takes shape in the kind of subject through representation and exchange becomes knowledge and skill.

 

·  At Mud Puddles Cottage, educational documentation should be a catalyst in bringing our expectations for children and parents expectations of their child closer. Educational documentation evidences our courage in going public with our teaching and learning.

·  Mud Puddles Cottage believes in using positive encouragement with open ended questions being the reinforcement. We feel these tools promote behaviours and build on caring and respect for others as well as building on their own self esteem and self worth.

 

·  Mud Puddles Cottage follows and updates regularly to improve the quality and standard of care through the National Quality Standard, Early Years Learning Framework and the Early Childhood in Australia Code of Ethics.

 

·  All families are encouraged to participate in all decisions made within the centre. We ask for them to share their culture and home experiences to help build on their child’s development, goals and needs. We strive to build comfortable relationships where we seek, find and nourish.

 

·  Mud Puddles Cottage firmly believes in our pedagogical practices. We want children to be able to perceive their world and to have a voice in their decision making. Our educators know the importance of why they are here and ask what they are learning. Our educators are committed to being aware of their environment.

 

·  Mud Puddles Cottage aims to foster children’s awareness of the importance of sustainability, water conservation and exploring the natural environment. We want children to understand the value of the outdoors and being part of nature. We believe in keeping children safe whilst letting them explore.

 

·  Exercise and healthy eating are integrated into every day learning. We believe this is important for their growth and development. We encourage our families to follow the same practices.

 

·  Mud Puddles Cottage aims for our educators to be updated in their learning and ongoing training in the childcare field. We believe in team collaboration and sharing knowledge to create for better practice.
