Our child care programs
At Mud Puddles Cottage, we are dedicated to ensuring that all children who we get the privilege of looking after are given the best head start.
Our child care programs are soundly based on quality teaching and education while adhering to government legislation. Every program emphasises play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication, language, social and emotional development as well as early literacy and numeracy. The programs are age-based with carefully curated stimulating activities, both planned and spontaneous, to build on each individual child’s needs and interests.
We follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which is based on three key concepts:

Belonging
A strong sense of ‘belonging’ encourages a child’s independence and connection with others and lays the foundation for them to form their identity and relationships.
2.
Being
Helping children to recognise the significance of ‘being’ encourages them to be present in the here and now.
3.
Becoming
‘Becoming’ reflects the process of rapid and significant change that occurs in the early year as young children learn and grow.

Opportunities to learn and discover
In these early years of learning and education, it’s so important to have an interactive environment that is both safe and exciting while also being full of opportunities to learn and discover.
Our six spacious, interactive rooms are filled with an abundance of learning resources and equipment to help children actively engage in hours of learning and fun. Our outdoor play areas are an extension of the indoor spaces and allow children the opportunity for discovery within the natural environment. Our rooms and child care programs have been designed specifically to cater for all ages and have an emphasis on providing a warm sense of security, home and belonging.
For children in our Preschool Room, who will be attending formal schooling in coming years, we recognise the importance of facilitating a smooth transition to school. As such, we offer a unique transition to school child care program based on the school syllabus. Written by a qualified Early Childhood and Kindergarten teacher, the program is designed to foster confidence and skills in the children and prepare them for the schooling years ahead.
